Yes, I have been in Dubai again, and this multiethnical meltingpot has been growing in my eyes, and I have kind of took it deep into my heart.
I am already longing for my next visit there. Last time I experienced a city with a strong heartbeat but loss of soul, this time I have found more soul as well, I am happy to say.
This time we stayed 10 days, the weather was nothing but perfect (especially compared to the heat last September) so sunny, around 30 degrees Celsius, and some days there was a little wind as well.
The shopping is of course great, I think this is one of the best places to shop until you drop, could compare to the N.Y.-shopping which means nothing but excellent!
Also there is a special vibe in the city, I think my attempt to describe it it words is not worthy, but Dubai is some kind of mix between old maghrebi-arabic Bedouinstyle, a hyper-ultra modern huge metropolitan and excellent environments with stunning architectonical designs blended up with sun, sand and people from all over the globe. Wrap this in a thin paper with beautiful Islamic calligraphy , scented with Arabian oud, and hide the gem under a thin shawl of seductive orientalism and you have got a little piece of Dubai and the U.A.E. In your hand.
